About the Author

Tim is a born again Christian and a layman, but not a Pastor. In testimony (leading with Personal and Professional Test), and in his seemingly against-all-odds efforts advocating for patients and caregivers in the healthcare industry that benefited many, he was drawn closer to the Lord later in life. Tim began Studying the Word in a unique combination of ways on dozens of topics, both from a biblical perspective and how Jesus would see things in today’s complex world.

Tim’s career includes a variety of businesses: from restaurants to retail to real estate renovations; to development, management, and ownership of nursing homes, special care units, Senior Living, and Senior Housing facilities; and to providing advisory services for green technology and renewable energy. His serving includes organizing a non-profit in 1993 to provide free healthcare screenings, education/Lifelong Learning Programs for seniors, and intergenerational programs.

While Tim did not become a church member until later in life, serving and doing for others was important before being born again in 2003. Tim’s journey as a Christian faced many twists and turns. Important milestones in his religious and spiritual journey—including patient and caregiver advocacy in California, as well as discovering and joining the Reformed Church of Highland Park, New Jersey, in 2012. The Reformed Church of Highland Park is special. The congregation and affiliated non-profit organizations serve and draw others of all faiths to unite in serving those most in need by offering affordable housing solutions, social services, healthcare, education, and countless other services. As part of the message in Studying the Word, Tim continued to visit other churches during his travels—59 churches in 19 states in eleven years prior to the pandemic.

Tim’s upbringing had its challenges, as referenced in several short chapters including Alcoholism in the Family. However, he persevered in no small measure due to his Mother’s predominately positive attitude and love. Tim has three children (Megan, Katie and Chris) and five grandchildren (Olivia, Audrey, Lucas, Clara, and George).

Through the book Tim hopes to reach people for the Lord’s purpose to make a better world for his family and as many others as possible.
